GRRO Press Release
GRRO COMPLETES COMMISSIONING OF MOBILE DRYING SYSTEM FOR THE CITY OF LOGAN, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA
Eldora,
Iowa- August 24, 2006: Global Resource Recovery Organization,
Inc. (GRRO) is pleased to announce that it has completed the
commissioning and training of the first Tempest Drying System shipped
to Australia.
This mobile Tempest Unit will be used by the City of Logan to
demonstrate the economics / feasibility of an onsite, compact biosolids
drying plant which can produce a reduced volume and weight,
pasteurized, granular, free flowing product at the point of traditional
dewatered cake discharge. The use of the Tempest product would
eliminate the need for extensive onsite storage prior to stabilization
by further processing, and thereby eliminate issues associated with
generation of odors from stockpiled biosolids. It is also expected that
the drying and granulisation approach will dramatically reduce the
difficulty of handling biosolids through being able to use conventional
soil handling equipment and techniques.
Biosolid before drying
Biosolid after drying
This mobile system will be used for the next 9 months to determine the
final drying needs for the City of Logan. At that time it is
expected that the City will move to next phase of this program which is
to install multiple stationary systems as shown below:
